Pre-mixed Dry Mortars Produced at Saudi Readymix’s new Factory in Dammam.
Within a few months from its inauguration, Saudi Readymix’s new pre-mixed dry mortar factory has stepped up deliveries to various projects in the Kingdom. The new factory in Dammam’s Second Industrial City has a production capacity of 10,000 metric tons per month of various types of pre-mixed dry mortars; with plans to double its capacity as demand rises.
The new business line comes as the Company continues to diversify and develop its solution offerings to its customers throughout the Kingdom. The two main mortar products; Liyassa and Moona, are delivered in bulk or in jumbo bags. The former being used for internal and external plastering, whereas the latter is a masonry mortar used for brick and block walls.
“Depending on the project size and requirements, we provide special silo systems with mixers, blowers and spray machines to mix and apply Liyassa, our plastering mortar, mechanically,” says Fadi Mujahed, Saudi Readymix’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Not only are the mortar mixes more consistent and of higher quality, the number of skilled labor needed for plastering is reduced to a third compared to conventional manual plastering methods.”
Labor costs of plastering is expected to drop significantly as machine-applied mortar systems offer faster and higher productivity.
Saudi Readymix has already started to deliver large quantities of its Moona and Liyassa to major projects in the region with products being approved by various clients such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission, including several others.
“Our Research and Development team is working on adding new mortar products to our portfolio soon,” added Mujahed. “We expect to have a wider range that includes other mortar products in the coming months.”
Saudi Readymix is the leading ready-mixed concrete supplier in Saudi Arabia with a network of over 40 factories located in various strategic locations throughout the Kingdom. The Company contributes in many ongoing research in concrete in collaboration with various academic institutes and organizations and has recently opened its new state-of-the-art Research and Development Center in Dammam.
