Employee Safety & Well-being of Highest Priority

Saudi Readymix First to Receive HACCP and ISO 22000 Food Safety Certification

Saudi Readymix is the first, and only, manufacturing and construction company in the Arabian Gulf to receive ISO 22000 and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification, according to their certifying body LMS.

ISO 22000 is a food safety certification. Food safety is linked to the presence of food-borne hazards in food at the point of consumption. Since food safety hazards can occur at any stage in the food chain it is essential that adequate control be in place. Therefore, a combined effort of all parties through the food chain is required.

In obtaining these certificates Saudi Readymix is not only raising its own Health and Safety standards, but those of region as well. Catering companies working for Saudi Readymix must operate according to ISO 22000 standards or be overlooked as suppliers.

“Our greatest asset is our employees,” said Salam Abduljabbar, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Manager at Saudi Readymix. “laborers being the majority of them. Our aim is not to ensure that they receive food and accommodation, but rather nourishment, security and ease of mind.”

This is not the first program or initiative taken up by Saudi Readymix to improve and ensure overall health and safety. The company has several ISO and OSHA certificates for its factories and staff as well. The Company has recently received ISO 18000 certification for four of its factories earlier this year and plans to have all its commercial locations certified before year end.
