Upgrading the Latest GPS Systems on Over 1,000 Company Vehicles
Saudi Readymix announced the signing of an agreement with Afaqy Tech. LLC to install GPS navigation and telematics equipment on over 1,000 company heavy vehicles, which include trailers, bulkers, mobile pumps and truck mixers. The new equipment will continuously capture more than 200 key data elements from each vehicle on the road.
“We started installing simple GPS systems on some of our vehicles around 10 years ago.” Says Fadi Mujahed, Chief Commercial Officer. “Nowadays, such systems are important to oversee our employees’ safety and fleet activities in real time.”
“In addition to ensuring a better service for our customers during concrete pours on their project sites,” adds Mujahed, “these systems would enable us to observe driving habits in order to enforce defensive driving; improve equipment utilization by raising the efficiency of deliveries; have stronger controls on the quality of the concrete in transit; and reduce downtime by almost eliminating unscheduled maintenance through the integration of the vehicle data with our preventive maintenance system.”
Saudi Readymix is planning to launch a new version of its Customer App before the end of the year. The new version will contain more features and will enable Saudi Readymix customers to track “live” the deliveries of concrete during any of their pours.
Saudi Readymix is the leading ready-mixed concrete supplier in Saudi Arabia with a network of over 40 factories located in various strategic locations throughout the Kingdom and employs around 3,000 employees and runs the largest fleet of mobile equipment in the region.
